GenNext Monday Update

Empowering the Next Generation of Plant Scientists

The GenNext Monday Update is a recurring online seminar series organized by the Young Researchers and Innovators (GenNext) initiative of RECROP COST Action.

The webinar series was established to provide a dedicated platform for Early Career Researchers (ECRs) to showcase their work, exchange ideas, and strengthen scientific collaboration across the RECROP community. By bringing together researchers from diverse disciplines, institutions, and countries, the GenNext Monday Update helps supports the professional development of young researchers  and build an active, supportive scientific network.

The webinars are held online and are open to all RECROP members, collaborators, stakeholders, and interested participants from academia, industry, and policy sectors.

About the Webinar Series

The GenNext Monday Update aims to:

  • Provide Early Career Researchers with opportunities to present their research to an international audience.
  • Foster scientific discussion and networking among RECROP members.
  • Promote interdisciplinary collaboration across RECROP Working Groups.
  • Increase the visibility of young scientists and their research achievements.
  • Facilitate knowledge exchange on topics relevant to RECROP, including: Plant reproduction; Crop resilience to climate change; Abiotic stress responses; Molecular biology and biotechnology; Plant breeding and genetics; Omics technologies; Artificial intelligence and data science;Sustainable agriculture and innovative crop management

Why Participate?

For Speakers

  • Present your research to an international scientific audience.
  • Gain visibility within the RECROP community.
  • Receive valuable feedback from experts across multiple disciplines.
  • Develop your scientific communication and presentation skills.
  • Build new collaborations and identify potential research partners.

For Attendees

  • Connect with researchers from different countries and disciplines.
  • Explore opportunities for collaboration, mobility, and joint publications.
  • Support and encourage the next generation of scientists.

How to Become a Speaker

Are you a PhD student, postdoctoral researcher, or Early Career Researcher (up to 40 based on COST rules) working on topics relevant to RECROP?

We encourage you to share your research through the GenNext Monday Update webinar series.

Typical presentations include:

  • 15–30 minutes presentation
  • 10–15 minutes discussion and questions

Topics may include ongoing projects, recently published results, methodological advances, collaborative initiatives, or perspectives related to crop resilience and climate adaptation.
