RECROP 2026
Crop Resilience, Epigenetics and Climate Change

The RECROP conferences bring together scientists investigating crop resilience to climate change, with a particular emphasis on reproductive development, seed production, and crop adaptation to environmental stresses. The 2026 edition will explore both fundamental and applied aspects of plant stress biology, including stress perception and signaling, reproductive development under adverse environmental conditions, biotechnology, systems biology, and innovative breeding approaches for climate-resilient crops. For the first time, RECROP 2026 will also address vegetative propagation, an essential mode of reproduction for many crops.

A major focus of RECROP2026 will be the role of epigenetic regulation in plant responses to environmental stresses and its potential applications in crop improvement. Emerging topics such as chromatin regulation, DNA methylation, histone modifications, RNA-based regulation, and stress memory will be discussed in the broader context of generating crops capable of facing increasingly frequent and severe climatic challenges. The integration of genetic and epigenetic approaches in plant breeding will also be highlighted with the aim to strengthen interactions between researchers working on crop resilience and those studying epigenetic regulation in plants.

The conference will be organized in four main sessions:

Crop (epi)genetic responses to biotic and abiotic stresses.

Somatic and transgenerational stress memory and applications for plant priming in challenging environments.

Genome and epigenome editing for enhanced crop resilience.

Breeding and epi-breeding strategies to improve crop adaptation to environmental challenges.

Each session will feature an invited keynote speaker of international standing, followed by oral presentations selected from submitted abstracts. with particular encouragement for early-career researchers. Poster sessions and dedicated networking events will provide ample opportunities for scientific exchange, collaboration, and discussion.

Join us in the beautiful city of Bordeaux to explore the latest advances in crop resilience, epigenetics, and sustainable agriculture in a changing climate.

You can already start getting ready to submit an abstract, as registrations and submissions will open on June 25th.
